Explore some of the tests that AIM for Wellbeing has to offer!

GI-MAP Test

The GI-MAP was designed to detect microbes that may be disturbing normal microbial balance or contributing to illness as well as indicators of digestion, absorption, inflammation, and immune function. This stool test allows us to take a closer look at the health of your gut, which has the capacity to affect all other aspects of your health!

Organic Acid Test

Organic acids are metabolic intermediates that are produced in pathways of central energy production, detoxification, neurotransmitter breakdown, or intestinal microbial activity. By testing organic acids in urine, we are able to detect potential nutrient deficiencies, enzyme deficits, and assess the presence of intestinal bacteria or yeast overgrowth.

Helpful Things to Know About Lab Testing at AIM for Wellbeing

Insurance

  • Most lab tests ordered by an AIM for Wellbeing physician will be billed directly to your insurance by the lab.
  • Some lab tests we offer as part of our functional medicine testing program may not be covered by insurance, and in these cases, you will be charged a fee for a particular test by the lab or through AIM for Wellbeing.
  • If your particular insurance company only pays for blood work done at a particular lab facility like LabCorp, you must inform us of this in advance of having blood work done. Most insurance plans cover labs performed by major national labs, including Quest Laboratories, which is a lab often used by AIM for Wellbeing because of their favorable pricing policies for patients.

Fees

  • We will make every effort to make you fully aware of any additional lab fees that may be incurred and give you the opportunity to choose which lab tests you feel comfortable paying for.
  • You are under no obligation to purchase any specialty testing.
  • If a lab test kit is mailed to you by AIM for Wellbeing for at-home testing, you will be charged the day the kit is mailed.

Testing

  • The specific tests ordered will be personalized to you based on your initial evaluation with an AIM for Wellbeing doctor and may include blood, saliva, urine or stool testing.
  • Should any lab results indicate you may need further testing, you will be directed to continue your care with your primary care physician or a relevant specialist, or should you choose you may continue to work with your AIM for Wellbeing physician.
