Maya Amoils was diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer at the young age of 29. Throughout her life, and particularly during the time that she was being treated for her cancer, Maya utilized many integrative medicine options to optimize her health, reduce her disease burden, manage the many side effects from chemotherapy and surgery, and improve her well-being. She did not lose her hair during chemo or suffer from peripheral neuropathy or other potentially devastating side effects of the many chemotherapy medications she received.

Maya’s grace, kindness, and care for others throughout her life, and especially throughout her disease, were a testimony to her open heart, spirit, and determination. Maya passed away on January 18, 2022, but her spirt of giving lives on through Maya’s Way - Maya’s way of giving back to young people like her who are suffering from cancer. All donations are utilized to help people under the age of 40 who are suffering with cancer to receive integrative medicine therapies. The aim is to allow each patient to live with optimal well-being, despite their illness.

Who can apply?

Any person age 40 and under with a cancer diagnosis (past or current) who would like to utilize integrative therapies to manage any side effects and optimize well-being through and after treatment may apply.

What is the application process?

Complete the online application.
Our committee and/or an AIM physician will review your application.
You will receive a final decision by phone and/or mail within four weeks of submitting your application.
If accepted, a member of AIM’s front office staff will contact you to schedule your initial consultation with a physician.

How much does the program cost?

Services and supplements recommended for care are covered 100% by Maya’s Way.

What healing treatments does Maya's Way include?

Integrative medicine services may include nutritional counseling, medical acupuncture, chiropractic treatment, applied kinesiology, functional medicine counseling, energy healing, Advanced Allergy Therapeutics, and medical massage.

Some laboratory costs and supplements are also included in the program if recommended by your provider.
